St. Barnabas Anglican Church at a Glance

Sunday Service at 11:00 AM Weekly

Welcome! The church of Saint Barnabas is a (mostly) English-speaking parish church that belongs to the Spanish Reformed Episcopal Church (Anglican communion). The majority of the congregation is made up of English residents in the Costa del Sol, but there are also some Spaniards, foreign residents from other countries, and also tourists among us. We bring together quite a few cultures, languages and church traditions in a Christian church that is welcoming and open, with a focus on building bridges between the local community and the foreign residents.

We are a member of IGLESIA ANGLICANA EN ESPAÑA - https://anglicanos.es/

Activities

Worship at St. Barnabas Anglican Church is a family affair. Our weekly gathering (Sunday at 11:00 AM) is a foundational part of our life together as a community of believers in Jesus Christ. Worship is the primary time in which we as a community can together hear God’s Word proclaimed and taught, receive nourishment in the sacrament of Holy Communion, and offer to God our sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving for all that he has done and continues to do.
As a church in the historic Anglican tradition, our service is "traditional" in the sense that they follow a set pattern and rhythm of worship. We follow the seasons of the church year and have Holy Communion in every service. This means that our worship is what most would call liturgical—meaning that when we worship we come to “work as a people” (liturgy means “work of the people”) as we honor God.
